Traffic Circle, Parking Directions

For your convenience, a special “traffic circle” is available to pick up your child(ren) after school from 2:55 - 3:15 p.m. Enter the traffic circle at the open gate on the east end of the campus and follow instructions of those directing traffic. There are 2 lanes: the right lane is for grades K-3, and the left lane is for grades 4-8. If you have children in both levels, please use the lower grades lane.

For the safety of the staff and children, please DRIVE SLOWLY. The maximum speed in the parking lot is 5 mph. You must stop completely at the stop sign before the student crosswalk, and only proceed when instructed by the traffic guard. Drivers may not play loud music or use cell phones on school property.

Please do not hold up traffic to speak with a teacher or other staff personnel during this time. If it is imperative to talk to a teacher or staff person, please go through the traffic circle and park in a designated area.

NOTE: Students must have all materials needed to take home when they leave for traffic circle at the end of each school day. All classrooms are locked at 4:00 PM and will not be opened during child care hours.

PARKING

BEFORE SCHOOL DROP-OFF, AFTER SCHOOL PICKUP AND TEMPORARY PARKING

Before school (6:45 - 9:15 a.m.) and after school (3:00 - 6:00 p.m.), parents may park along the brick wall in the parking lot west of the chapel or on the streets adjacent to the school. The gate to the parking lot is closed each morning at 9:15 a.m. Therefore, all cars must be out of the parking lot by 9:15 a.m. If you go on a field trip or some other activity with your child’s class, please park on the street. Also, if you need to go to the office for an extended time, please park on the street. NOTE: Please do not use the staff parking lot (closest to the office).

PARKING DURING SCHOOL HOURS

Parents must park on the street during regular school hours (the school gates are closed from 9:15 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. As staff parking is limited, please do not ever park in staff spaces. Two visitor parking spaces are located next to the school office. These are reserved for parents picking up ill or injured children.

PARENT PARKING IS ONLY AVAILABLE IN THE STAFF LOT BETWEEN 9:00 am - 3:00 pm (when traffic circle gates are not open). Because several families are breaking long-standing safety rules for drop off and pick up of students, we now have a traffic attendant in the staff parking lot. Parents who fail to politely comply with the parking attendant will be contacted by the Principal.

NOTE: Do NOT drop off at the curb!!! Do not park on 182nd Street on Thursday mornings due to city street cleaning. You may park on Evelyn Street to the west of the school.
