About the Library

The Gardena Valley Christian School library is open from 9:00am until 4:00pm each school day for students to research and check out books. Class library time for each grade will be set at the beginning of each school year. Good library manners must be practiced by all students. We encourage students to take full advantage of the library with its reference materials, internet privileges, and books for pleasure reading.

The library offers assistance in learning library science and acquiring research skills. The goal is to integrate classroom instruction with library skills, coordinate research with classroom assignments, and encourage students to use the library for independent learning.

Students may check out materials from the librarian at designated times. Reminders are sent out weekly to encourage students to return materials on time. A fine for overdue books and/or replacement fee must be paid by the students before checkout privileges are restored. Unpaid fines will result in report cards and SAT scores being withheld. The fines and fees are used to buy new books for the GVCS Library.
